  • How is this abuse better than being at home with her mother?
  • A social worker removes an African American child from her home because of her mother's drinking problem.
  • She is put into a group home and is ignored by the other girls and becomes depressed.
  • 1 out of 5 foster children live in a group home instead of a foster family home.
  • The little girl has now been moved to a foster home.  She is covered in bruises that were given by her foster parents.
  • In 2012, in the U.S., 23,439 children in the foster care system aged out of the system.
  • The social worker comes by to check on the girl but sees the bruises so she removes her immediately from this home.
  • She was moved to another group home and has been moving back and forth from there to foster homes. She has not stayed in foster homes for long due to drug use or abusive ways of the foster parents.
  • She was no longer a foster child, she was now an adult who the system had put out on the streets with no housing, financial assistance, or emotional support.
