A rebellion formed by farmers because they were angry over taxes because of the whiskey they produced. They didn't want to pay taxes on whiskey because it was made from corn. Washington led a military force into Pennsylvania to end the rebellion and it proved that the nation was strong and the government was ready to put down a rebellion if when necessary.
