Storyboard Text

  • Do you know what the two types of societies were throughout Southeast Asia?
  • The societies were divided into the agricultural society, who relied largely on farming, and the trading society, which depended on trade for income
  • Yeah, trade expanded soon afterwards and reached amazing heights after the Muslim conquest of northern India.
  • That is pretty interesting. I have always wondered what expanded after of states in Southeast Asia. Do you happen to know that too?
  • I have a history test coming up. You wouldn't happen to know what the biggest trade commodity was in Southeast Asia would you?
  • The demand for spices rose and added to the growing volume of trade.
  • Whats up bro? Like my teepee? I live in it. I wonder what people lived in Southeast Asia?
  • Well the aristocrats lived in major cities such as Angkor Thom, meanwhile farmers, fishers, artisans, and merchants live outside of the cities.
  • Do you have a bathroom in your house? I gotta go bad. Anyway, what were the roles of women in this society?
  • Don't you need a bladder to have to use the bathroom. And women had more rights then other places. they worked side by side with men in the field and played an active role in trading.
  • My stomach hurts bro. Got any medicine? What is a piece of architecture that was made and what was its purpose?
  • Last question! I swear bro. What religions spread throughout Southeast Asia????
  • Go see the royal doctor. Also the Angkor Wat is the most famous. It took 40 years and as much stone as the great pyramid.
  • Hindu and Buddhist ideas started to spread in the  first millennium A.D, where old beliefs blended whit these new faiths and eventually became the main religions.
