  • The Texas Revolution, also known as the Texas War of Independence, was the military conflict between Mexico and Texas colonists. It began in 1836 and resulted in the establishment of the Republic of Texas after the final battle on San Jacinto.
  • Hi my name is Moses Austin and I played a large part in the development of the land in Texas . I am the father of Stephen F. Austin, a leading American settler of Texas, then part of Mexico.
  • Hey, my name is Santa Anna, Mexican general, and I have the strong power in the independent country because I am the dictator. Santa Anna became the prime villain of Texas history because of his actions at The Alamo and at Goliad.
  • In the Battle of the Alamo, February 23 – March 6, 1836. William Travis and James Bowie led 182 Texans. The fight was against the Mexicans. The Texans held out for 12 days, at a mission, in San Antonio. They ran out of ammunition. The Mexicans killed every single one of the Texans.
  • Hi, I am San Houston and I am the only American who won the victory at the Battle of San Jacinto and secured the independence of Texas from Mexico in 1836.
  • Sam Houston and 900 Texans attacked them. Texans capture or killed all of the Mexicans. The Texans captured Santa Anne who was trying to escape, and they took him prisoner. He agreed to give Texas its independence in exchange for his life.
