#### Storyboard Text

• They robbed my Taco Stand by giving me counterfeit money!
• I'm bored. Let's go get food next-door with fake money.
•    I know if we got three soft tacos and three burritos it would be 11.25 since I got it once
• Let x be the taco and y be the burritos.
• Your bill would be 10.00 for 4 soft tacos and 2 burritos so how much are burritos and how much are tacos?
• Let's rewrite the problem. 3x+3y=11.25 is my order 4x+2y=10 which is your order And then we have to rewrite each equation so they are in opposite terms.
• 2[3x+3y=11.25] = [6x+6y=22.50] -3[4x+2y=10] = [-12x-6y=-30]
• 6x+6y = 11.25 -12x-6y = 22.50 -6x = -7.50 -6 x=1.25
• 4x+2y=10 4(1.25)+2y=10     Substitute 5+2y=10           Simplify 5-5+2y=10-5     Subtract 2y=5                2   2    Divide y= 2.5
• Now we check it 3x+3y = 11.25 3(1.25)+3(2.5) = 11.25 3.75+7.5 = 11.25 4x+2y=10 4(1.25)+2(2.5)=10 5+5=10
• So the price of 1 soft taco is \$1.25 and the price of one burrito is \$2.50
• Let's go make some counterfeit money know that we know.
