Storyboard Text

  • Today we are going to learn how important it is for teens to wear their seatbelts.
  • Seatbelt Safety for Teens
  • Did you know more than half of all teens and young adults don't wear their seatbelt. (NHTSA) I am here today to talk about this with you because people don't realize how dangerous the outcome can really be.
  • Seatbelts save thousands of lives each year (CDC). Dozens of people get in car accidents everyday and on average 3/4 people die from being ejected and not wearing their seatbelts.
  • Always wear your seatbelt even if you're just driving around the block, a driver could come out of nowhere.
  • When you don't wear your seatbelt there are so many things you can't control such as the weather. You may lose control of your vehicle and end up in an accident like me.
  • You can be thrown out of your vehicle so easily, but your seatbelt can help more than you could ever imagine. Seatbelts save thousands of lives each year.
