Storyboard Text

  • My toepads hurt too and we still got a while to go.
  • Ouch! My toepads and toes hurt.
  • I fell down a branch Gareth. Where are you?
  • That's ok Grace, keep persisting. We are higher up than yesterday.
  • We are almost up at the treetops.
  • Yay I climbed one tree branch.
  • For the next few weeks Gareth and Grace tried to climb higher up the tree trunk. Their toepads and toes hurt.
  • Somedays they fell and on other days they moved further up the branches. Reaching more food gave them the strength to keep going.
  • We love our new home on the treetops.
  • It's nicer higher up. This is where we will stay.
  • Gareth and Grace kept going until they were high in the tree tops on smoother bark and abundant food.
  • This place on the lower branches is perfect for us.
  • Through all their climbing, Gareth and Graces toepads had gotten bigger and their toes sticker.  They had adapted to a new habitat and developed new characteristics to enable them to survive.
  • The lives of Gareth and Grace’s had changed, they lived up in treetops with their family with their big toepads and sticky feet.
  • Thelives of Bob and the other Brown Anoles’ had not changed as they continued to liveon the lower tree trunks and branches of the Florida wilderness.
