Storyboard Text

  • Hi Class, today we are going to learn about the effects alcohol has on the body.
  • Alcohol affects every cell of the body immediately after consumed.
  • The liver can only handle one drink an hour, if more is consumed the excess alcohol overflows into the bloodstream.
  • Alcohol impairs the blood vessels by relaxing the nerves that controls blood vessels and the blood vessels in the skin widens.
  • When too much alcohol is in the body the lungs excrete a little ethanol from the bloodstream as a gas exhaled in the breath.
  • The nerves and brain react to too much alcohol because alcohol depresses the action of the nervous system that usually sets limits on behavior.
