South Korea, a democracy, and North Korea, a communist state, clashed over influence. Ended with each state gaining independence from each other. South Korea tried to keep communism in containment. U.S. intervened as part of the Truman Doctrine.

In 1959 Fidel Castro overthrew Fulgencio Batista. The CIA attempted to overthrow Castro. The
The Berlin Wall was a concrete wall that divided Berlin from 1961 until its destruction in 1989, and blocked off West Germany from East Germany. The Allies sent tons of cargo to West Germany called the Berlin Airlift. West Germany later join NATO and accepted the Warsaw Pact. The U.S would later make the Marshall Plan to help rebuild Western Europe after WW 2.
Stand off between the U.S. and Soviet Union. On October 1962 the Soviet Union installed nuclear bombs in Cuba. The U.S threatened to use military force to take out the missiles. The Soviet agreed to remove all the bombs, and the U.S. promised not to invade Cuba.
Conflict between North and South Vietnam where both sides were fighting for influence of government. The U.S joined South Vietnam hoping to contain communism, but backed out do to the public. North Vietnam succeeded in invading South Vietnam.
