For many years Greek soldiers have been trying to break in and take over the city of troy. But they never could because of troys strong walls and archers.
One day, a Greek general, Odysseus came up with a great idea to pretend to sail away to trick Troy into thinking the Greeks had finally given up.
It is tradition to leave a gift for the winning side, so the Greeks constructed a gaa a wooden horse with 30 men hidden inside, and at night these men can sneak out and open the gate of troy.
The Greeks brought the wooden horse as close to troy as they could without being shot by the archers protecting the gates.
As the Greeks pretended to sail away the trojan archers were amazed that the Greeks have finally given up.
Once the Greeks were out of sight the trojans dragged the horse inside of troy and closed the gates.
