Storyboard Text

  • Hey, did you know that we have a chemistry test tomorrow? Do you want to study with me?
  • Yes, I would love to
  • There are three types of intramolecular bonds such as ionic, covalent, and metallic.
  •    Ionic bonding is the complete transfer of valence electrons  between atoms and a type of chemical bond that generates oppositely charged ions
  • In addition, a covalent bond is a chemical bond where electron pairs share between atoms
  • Metallic bonding is the attraction between two parts of a metal
  • Today is the test and we need to know the three types of intermolecular forces as well
  • The three types are london dispersion forces, dipole-dipole, and hydrogen bonding
  • London dispersion force is a force acting between atoms and molecules
  • Dipole-dipole are attractive forces between the positive end of one polar molecule and the negative end of another polar molecule
  • Lastly is hydrogen bonding which is a weak bond between two molecules that result from electrostatic attraction
  • We finally covered everything we needed to know, now it's time to take the test!!
