A story about religiousness and death and how it connects to bigger sociological themes
Cian's dad has died
I know that we are all sad but it's all a part of God's plan. He has a purpose for all of us and God needed him up in heaven for a higher purpose.
Why does everyone say that it's a part of God's plan? A true all kind and loving God wouldn't do this.
I understand that the idea of a peaceful death and that it's God's will is part of the core of religion because it gives people hope and peace for dead loved ones. I however, think it's ludicrous and that it gives people false hope and is a lie at the core of religion.
Why do my parents believe in this? They are both extremely smart and educated but cannot see through this lie. Could it be due to being born at a different time that I think differently? I don't understand how people my age understand but those older and more educated do not!
I guess I have to realize that my parents come from a different age where they believe more strongly in religion that I do. While I still believe in God, I can see some aspects of religion that just seem wrong and are things I cannot partake or believe in
