  • In the beginning of the story, the narrator starts off by saying that tomorrow he will die and that he doesn't expect anyone to believe his story. He says that he loves cats and pets. The narrator has a lot of animals but loves his cat the most. 
  • Climax
  • He loved his pets and his wife a lot until he started drinking. When he started drinking he always got really angry and moody. He started swearing at his wife and soon hated his cats too. Drinking had really changed his personality
  • Falling Action
  • One day when he came back from drinking he thought that his cat was avoiding him which made him really mad so he got a knife and put the knife through the cat's eye. 
  • Resolution
  • He doesn't like looking at the cat when it only has one eye. He decides to hang the cat on his tree. After killing the cat the narrator goes into a bar and finds a new cat. The new cat is really weird because it has many features that remind him of the old cat. The narrator is too scared to harm the new cat.That night though his house burns down and he loses everything he has including his money though he is able to save his wife.
  • When day he gets so angry at the new cat that he grabs his axe and tries to kill it.  His wife see's this and tries to stop him then by accident the man kills her wife. The man tries to think of a place to hide her and hides her in the cellar. 
  • The police look for the body but can't find it then eventually they find the body with the Cat in a wall. The man then gets hung and the cat gets rescued from the place behind the wall.
