Lizabeth lived in an old dusty town during the Great Depression. Being grown made Lizabeth makes her miss the adolescence. Joy, rage, happiness, and shame all came with her emotions as a child.
Being at the house she hears her father and mother talking on the other side of the room. Hearing her father cry and suffer talking about not being able to find a job will mess with Lizabeths emotions as she grows up.
With all the anger Lizabeth has been holding in she finally rips and pulls out all the marigolds realizing she needs to grow up and stop with all the immaturity and games the kids play.
