Storyboard Text

  • This is an oil pump, it is used to get the oil from the ground, so that it can be used to make petroleum, gasoline and much more.
  • Per every gallon of gasoline burnt, 19.64 pounds of CO2 are produced, which is really bad considering what C02 can do to the enviroment, which we will talk about later.
  • The greenhouse effect is basically like when greenhouse gasses remain in the atmosphere and causes the sun rays to enter really easily, but exit really difficultly, causing the earth to heat up, also known as climate change.
  • Generally speaking, the use of fossil fuels has increased a lot since the first use as energy, in the industrial revolution (around 1750-1800), this is very dramatic, specially when we know the consequences of burning this oils.
  • The greenhouse effect can be perfectly shown in the Antartic, which contains 90 percent of the fresh water in the earth. While the Antartic is melting, the sea level in a lot of places is growing, and we are also seeing a lot of different and more frequent natural disaster, which one of the main reasons for happening is climate change.
  • According to the NASA "Most climate scientists agree the main cause of the current global warming trend is human expansion of the greenhouse effect", so in conclusion, we could see that fossil fuels increase climate change and lead to a really bad environmental situation, which we aren't prepared for.
