The story of Ivan the terrible
In Moscow, Russia there was a boy named Ivan, who was the only child of Tsar Vasily III and Elena Glinsky.
Ivan's religious beliefs
Through Ivan's whole life he was part of a russian orthodox church

Ivan's young life was disrupted by the struggle for power among landowning nobles, known as boyars.
In 1533, at the age of 3 Ivan's father died and he was crowned ruler. He didn't have absolute rule because of a group of nobles called the Boyars. His mother died when he was 8 years old.
When Ivan turned 16, the Boyars fought to control him. Ivan defeated them which gave him the absolute power that he was looking for.
During his rule Ivan was so terrible to his people that he was given the nickname "Ivan the terrible", and nobody wanted to go against him giving him absolute power.
