"You aren't scared to be out in the dark?" said Andrew. "Of course not!" Snowflake said. "Why would I be afraid? It's not bad at all!" Snowflake promised that she would show Andrew that the dark was not scary.
They explored the forest together until sunset. Andrew heard a strange noise in the distance. "What was that?" he asked. "Those are wolves," Snowflake said. "Wolves! They are going to eat us!" he yelled. "Don't worry, they are too far away to hurt you," responded Snowflake.
They kept going until they saw bats flying above them. Andrew didn't like the way they looked. They made him nervous. "It's okay, Andrew. The bats are harmless," Snowflake said calmly.
"Come on, Andrew. I want to show you the best part of the forest at night." Andrew followed Snowflake until she stopped at the top of a hill. "Look, Andrew!" she said.
All around them were fireflies. In the sky they saw stars above. The dark is not so bad after all, Andrew thought.
Andrew was no longer afraid of the dark. He and Snowflake played together in the forest everyday for many years and became great friends. The End
