Storyboard Text

  • Graphic novels are much more visual ways to tell a story or say a message. Compared to a regular novel it could be harder for the reader to identify what exactly the message is without seeing visuals.
  • Today's lesson: How your medium changes the shape of your message!
  • Miss, how do graphic novels change the shape of your message??
  • Who can tell me some of the key elements in a graphic novel?
  • I know! A panel is the boxes in comics which show motion through time and moves the story along.
  • I know that speech bubbles are used to show the characters thoughts and emotions!
  • Color choice is key to set the mood of the story!
  • "The medium is the message" Meaning that the form of a medium embeds itself in any message it would transmit or convey, creating a symbiotic relationship by which the medium influences how the message is perceived.
  • TAKE NOTES ON THE FOLLOWING:
  • Woah!
  • The end.
  • Did you guys know that graphic novels are a great way to keep the readers' attention while trying to get a message across?
  • Give me a little recap on what u learned today Ella!
  • I learned that depending on the medium you choose it can change the entire mood and professional level of your work. I also learned about some elements of grapic novels and that they are really useful for visual learners!
  • So much fun!
  • I learned so much about how the medium affects your message! I will definitely be thinking twice about it next time we have a project to present!
