Graphic novels are much more visual ways to tell a story or say a message. Compared to a regular novel it could be harder for the reader to identify what exactly the message is without seeing visuals.
Today's lesson: How your medium changes the shape of your message!
Miss, how do graphic novels change the shape of your message??
Who can tell me some of the key elements in a graphic novel?
I know! A panel is the boxes in comics which show motion through time and moves the story along.
I know that speech bubbles are used to show the characters thoughts and emotions!
Color choice is key to set the mood of the story!
"The medium is the message" Meaning that the form of a medium embeds itself in any message it would transmit or convey, creating a symbiotic relationship by which the medium influences how the message is perceived.
