  • Second Chances

  • "I'm sorry"
  • Mrs. Jones's House/Street
  • Mrs. Jones's house: "and continued to drag him up the street.  When she got to her door..."
  • Thank you m'am
  • Mrs. Jones
  • Mrs. Jones: " When i get through with you, sir, you are going to remember Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones."
  • "I want the world to know that everybody deserves a second chance." - El DeBarge
  • The boy trying to steal money from Mrs. Jones's purse
  • "It was about eleven o'clock at night, and she was walking alone, when a boy ran up behind her and tried to snatch her purse."
  • The settings supports the theme because Mrs. Jones is bringing the boy back to her house to teach him a lesson and to give him a second chance.
  • In conclusion...
  • A boy who tried to steal money from a lady's purse. The boy got caught and the lady taught the boy a lesson and gave him a second chance. Second chances revield the theme the best because the boy got the second chance and made the best of it.
  • Mrs. Jones did bad things too, but she got a second chance and changed life for the better.
  • If the boy hadn't tried to steal the purse then he wouldn't of gotten a second chance and then there wouldn't be a theme.
  • #Lifealwaysgivesyouasecondchance...it'scalledtomorrow
  • "I believe you're hungry-or have been-to try to snatch my pocketbook"
  • "I wanted a pair of blue suede shoes"
