  • Women's March on Versailles
  • Declaration of the Rights of Man
  • Men are born and stay free and equal in rights Liberty, equality, fraternity
  • Reign of Terror
  • In 1789, thousands of women rioted over the prices of bread. They also wanted Louis and Antoinette to come back to Paris with them.
  • Execution of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette
  • This documented was influenced by the Declaration of Independence. It says men are born and stay free and equal in rights. They adopted "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity" as their slogan.
  • Rise of Napoleon
  • Robespierre ruled for a year and he arrested and beheaded anyone he thought was going against the revolution. Most executed were peasants. It ended when he was beheaded himself.
  • Fall of Napoleon
  • The National Convention, aided by Jacobins, tried Louis for treason. They found him guilty and sentenced him to death. 
  • He was a military genius and he got a lot of victories for France, which expanded their territory. He became emperor and set up a bunch of things that made France better off.
  • He was exiled after making a few big mistakes, like invading Russia and setting up a blockade, but came back later. His last stretch of power is called the hundred days. After he was exiled again, the Congress of Vienna happened.
