  • Marshall plan
  • Hey honey! have they taught you about the Marshall plan in school yet?
  • Nope we're doing that sometime next week. But we did learn about the Molotov plan
  • M.A.D
  • We really need to come up with a plan to protect us from an atomic war.
  • Molotov Plan
  • Good Morning class. Today we will be learning about the Molotov plan.
  • The mother mentions the Marshall plan because this was a plan that George C Marshall created to say that the U.S needed to help Europe after war. When the war ended everyone was afraid the Europe would fall under communism, so the U.S had to do something to prevent this.
  • Fear of atomic age
  • Mommy... Are they gonna bomb us?
  • M.A.D stands for Mutually Assured Destruction, and was created because the U.S feared that communism would take over. M.A.D was originally created to say that neither the U.S nor anyone we are at war with will start a nuclear war. If this was violated, then the opposite side would retaliate massively.
  • Fall of czechoslovakia
  • HELP! I've fallen and I can't get up
  • The Molotov Plan was created by the Soviet Union in order to aid in the economic recovery in Eastern Europe. They did this by establishing the Council for mutual economic assistance.
  • Europe and US policy
  • After the atomic bombs were dropped on Japan, Americans became afraid that a nuclear war would begin. This is the reasoning behind why M.A.D was created. Because of all the fear Americans had, they created ads like Bert the Turtle that demonstrated the duck and cover method.
  • The old women says Help I've fallen and I can't get up because she reflects Czechoslovakia being given to Germany as a sign of peace. This happened because leaders signed the Munich Pact. Signing the pact also gave Germany 66 percent of Czechoslovakia’s coal, 70 percent of its iron and steel, and 70 percent of its electrical power.
  • After war Europe was going through hard economic times, and needed the us to help. The U.S tried to create many plans in order to help.
