  • Newt takes Thomas to the Slammer.
  • "The Slammer stood in an obscure place between the Homestead and the north Glade wall, hidden behind thorny, ragged bushes that looked like they hadn't been trimmed in ages." (Dashner 191)
  • ""There's only a chair and nothin' at all for ya to do. Enjoy yourself."" (Dashner 191)
  • Newt opens the door and leads Thomas into the Slammer.
  • Thomas sits in the chair and is overcome with boredom. Chuck finally arrives at noon with chicken and water.
  • ""I want to go back to my family. Whatever's there, whatever I was taken from."" (Dashner 192)
  • Chuck tells Thomas that he's homesick even though he doesn't remember his home.
  • ""I know what you mean."" (Dashner 193)
  • Thomas suddenly gets really angry that Chuck was taken from his family.
  • ""I promise on my life I'll get you back to that room of yours."" (Dashner 195)
  • ""Ain't dead, are ya, shank?"" (Dashner 196)
  • Thomas is surprised to see Alby come to let him out later that day.
