The three witches hover through the fog and decide to meet again to confront Macbeth and tell him his fate.
The witches appear to Macbeth and he does not believe they are real. They depict Macbeth's future as the King.
Macbeth hears about the execution of Cawdor and acknowledges that Malcolm is the only one standing in the way of his crown after Duncan names him the heir of the throne.
Macbeth has illusions of killing the king with a dagger. Meanwhile Lady Macbeth encourages Macbeth to kill the king.
Macbeth invites the king planning to get his guards drunk and kill the king with a dagger.
Macbeth gets the guards drunk and and kills Duncan to become the king.
