  • EFFECTS OF THE WAR TAXATION / PROCLAMATION LINE
  • Land is what it was all about. The Ohio River Valley was prime for fur trading and both the British and French wanted control.
  • 1754  Albany, New York Benjamin Franklin proposed a plan to the Congress of the British Colonies for the colonies to work together but still each have their own government.  Benjamin Franklin thought they needed to work together to defeat France.  The plan was rejected by the colonies.
  • Proclamation Line - King George III ordered the Appalachian Mountains was the end boundary for expansion to keep Native Americans and colonists from fighting. Taxation - British Parliament taxed the American Colonies to pay the debts from the French and Indian War.
