what made it hard to win was the enemy's ability to hide in plain sight. Being a farmer or villager by day and by night fighting the U.S.
The enemy could produce more soldiers than we could kill which exhausted our funds and which effected the economy leading to sit-ins and protests against us continuing in the war.
What made it hard to win the war were the tactics used by the enemy which was guerrilla warfare which was easy because of they're knowledge of the surroundings and the system of underground tunnels used for multiple purposes.
