Storyboard Text

  • Yes dad, I am very...
  • Beta, are you excited for college?
  • Oh No!!! classes start today!! My online English class too. I am so stressed.
  • A week before college, I was very excited to start my classes.
  • (Week 1)
  •                    Week 1     Assignments Due1. Discussion Post 1: Introductions (Friday)2. Discussion Post 2: What is "Good Writing?“(Friday)3. Syllabus Quiz  (Monday)4. Email Assignment  (Friday)  5. Discussion Board follow-up posts (Monday)
  • At the beginning of the semester, I was really worried about this course. I had concerns about getting my assignments in on time, I also had some fears about not being able to write efficiently in English as it is not my first language.
  • Week 2: Lamott: “Shitty First Draft” Week 3: Summary Essay Prompt & Sample Essay Week 5:  Thesis Statement Handout Week 6: UNC Quotation Handout Week 13: YOUTUBE: “MLA Basics”
  • I hope that by taking English 111, I can explore different writing techniques, I also want to be able to point out my own mistakes and fix them, also make less mechanical errors, better word choice, and sentence structure.
  • Almost the end of the semester, registering for next semester begins.
  • Hi Jemma! Honestly, classes have been great so far. I would totally recommend taking an online English class. I have Professor Weaver for English 111 and he is simply great.
  • Hey Pankti! How is your semester going so far? I wanted to ask you a question. I heard that you are taking an online English class. How is it? How is the teacher? It is worth taking online? Did you like learn anything?
  • Wow! This is very organized. Mr. Scott has very nicely put the deadlines for every week. I think that this will really keep me on track. There are almost no chances of me failing to remember a deadline.
  • These are examples of some of the many great assignments that we did in this class that helped me explore different writing styles and some grammar rules in general. I am very grateful for these experiments that have helped me enhance my writing. There were also other assignments like analyzing the writer's writing techniques. This practice has honestly made me look for logos, ethos, and pathos in every article that I read from now.
  • English being of my weakest subject, I was worried about surviving this class; however, Professor Weaver made it easy and fun. Taking it online was never a problem as it's impossible to miss a deadline amidst all the reminders that he sent out. Before starting this class, even I had my doubts, but now when I am almost done with this, I can say that I have learned a lot more than I expected.
