  • Exposition Richard is getting in trouble by his Aunt Addie because she thinks Richard left it on the floor.

  • Rising Action Even though Richard is getting yelled at, he have a job when he is black is the early 1920s and is getting paid for it.

  • Climax Richard is leaving his mother and the South to go to the North. He is looking for a better job and that pays more.

  • Falling Action Richard go in to the North without any trouble and his expedition are to find a house and get a job

  • Resolution When Richard arrived to Memphis. He was pacing back and forth, a lady came out and gave him house to stay in.
