  • Lucius, don't just stand there! Run to the Senate house now!
  • What do you want me to do there, Madam?
  • Oh, let my determination keep me from speaking what is in my heart!
  • I want you there and back before I can tell you what you should do there.

  • Do you know ifCaesar has gone to the Senate house yet?
  • Not yet, madam. I am on my way there.
  • Portia orders the servant, Lucius to go to the Senate House. He asks her what he should do once he is there.
  • She is so distracted that she is unable to tell him the purpose. She knows what Brutus is planning to do to Caesar, and is unwilling to keep it a secret.
  • A soothsayer enters and Portia asks him if he has seen Caesar go to the Senate house.
