Storyboard Text

  • We are still in debt! we need to tax the colonists for tea!
  • Meanwhile in Boston...
  • The colonists spilled all the tea in the ocean!
  • We need to do something about this !
  • After the Boston massacre, the king repeals all taxes on the colonists. They still need to compensate for he money spent on the war so they keep the tax put on tea. This decision is known as the Tea Act..
  • Your Majesty, one of the culprits have been identified as Francis Akeley.
  • Good, have him imprisoned!
  • When news of the tax on tea reaches Boston, the colonists rebel against the tea act. The Sons of Liberty disguise themselves as Native Americans and spill all the chests of tea into the ocean until all 3 ships are empty. They make sure the tea is ruined and cannot be used anymore.
  • Close the Boston Harbor until the spilled tea is paid for!
  • Yes, your majesty.
  • When news of the Boston Tea Party reaches London, the King is infuriated. he does not take this lightly, and considered it as intolerable. He is ready to take action to suppress the thirst for revolution of the colonies.
  • After i sign these acts, I will suppress these colonists once and for all
  • After the Boston Tea Party, one of the Sons of Liberty is identified as Francis Akeley, and is arrested. He was the only person convicted because of the Boston Tea Party since the disguises made it hard to identify the people involved.
  • The first act that took place in response to the Boston Tea Party was having the Boston Harbor gate closed, as ordered by the King. He wanted to stop the export of tea to Boston until they pay for the damage and the tea they ruined.
  • The King then imposes the Coercive Acts which limited the freedom of the colonists, and extended the freedom of the French in Quebec. These acts included ending the Massachusetts Constitution, moving authority to Britain, and requiring colonists to get protection from British troops on demand.
