  • The effect of Scrooge's unfriendly appearance made a guide dog bark. The dog pulled his master and went the other way. This shows that even strangers don't like Scrooge, because of his appearance.

  • The light coming out of the Ghost of Christmas Past acts like a guide line that will tell Scrooge the bad acts he has done, so that he can change.

  • This scene indirectly shows that Scrooge doesn't like Christmas, because the nephew wishes him a "Merry Christmas" and Scrooge replies "buh... hum-bag" in a mean attitude.

  • After seeing his clerk, Scrooge felt bad for when Bob's family made a toast to Scrooges health.
  • The effect of meanness is loneliness. This scene shows that Scrooge's actions were mean and selfish, so nobody wanted to be with him.
