  • The main characters of this poem are the carpenter, the walrus, and the young oysters. The setting of the poem is on the shore  of a beach.
  • 
  • While the Walrus and the Carpenter are walking on the beach, they asked the oysters to come along with them. But, the elder oyster refused because he thought the were suspicious. Then, suddenly the younger oysters hurried along with the walrus and the carpenter, but it was too late  to warn them. Then, they walked for a long time until they  were tired, then rested on the low rocks.
