From a very young age, John Baptist De La Salle was exposed to many stories about religion, saints, and God though his grandmother. Here, he started to recognize God and had a sense of awe, with his grandmother as his mentor.
There was once a saint...
He took a step to his apprenticeship in faith by becoming Canon of the Cathedral Chapter of Reims when he was 16. More so, at 19, he moved to Paris to study at the Sorbonne while residing in the Seminary of Saint Sulpice.
He found a greater responsibility through building schools for poor children. Prior to this, he met Adrian Nyel and invited a small group of men into his home, which deeply disturbed his relatives. With all this, he was convinced this is what God wanted him to do.
