Storyboard Text

  • Lilly's morning starts very boring. She wakes up, heads to school, and decides to mess around in the gym.
  • Lilly is bored and wants to kick the ball over the pole. She is standing 20 feet away and is looking at the pole at an angle of 30 degrees. She is wondering how tall the pole is. She finds out that tan(30)x20 = is 11.5. So the pole is 11.5 feet tall.

  • After shattering the light she decides that she should go home. But on her way home she decides to grab a coffee.
  • Lilly then spots a cat in a tree and decided to rescue it. She knows that the tree is 8 feet tall and she is looking at the cat at an angle of 45 degrees. She uses trig to find that 8/tan(45) = 8. So the cat is 8 feet away.

  • After Lilly saves the cat and brings it home, she decides to look at the clock.  Curious, she wants to figure out how high up the clock is. She knows the clock is 6 feet away and she is looking at it at a 50 degree angle. She finds tan(50)x6 = 7.15. So the clock is 7.15 feet high.

  • So Lilly and her cat lived happily ever after.
