Shi Huangdi was born in 259 BCE and died in 210 BCE. Shi is known for being the first emperor of China and for building the great wall of China to keep outsiders out. He was a harsh ruler who promoted legalism
Ashoka ruled almost all of India from 268 BCE to 232 BCE. Ashoka was the first ruler to promote the Buddhist ideology despite being a harsh ruler.
Ashoka assumed the throne in 268 BCE. He was a vicious ruler who (like chandragupta) was known for his punishments and even waging war to expand his nation. He felt bad for the State Of Kalinga, so he started to study Buddhism and became a better and more humane leader.
When Shi was 13 years old, his father died making him the king of the Qin empire. Shi's goal was to conquer all of China and unite it under one rule. Shi also was a tyrant, burning books, he wanted history to begin with the Qin dynasty.
