King Solomon was young, wise, and wealthy. He was the son of David, which meant he was the third King. Solomon was not the oldest of his siblings, however his father had given him the crown.
In a dream one night, Solomon asked for wisdom so that he might rule with fairness and reason. Pleased that he had not asked for anything for himself, God gave him the wisdom he sought.
This wisdom was tested one day when two women came to him. They both had given birth, but one baby had died in the night. The mother of the dead child had swapped the children, and taken the live child for herself. However, both mothers claimed the child was theirs.
