Storyboard Text

  • Physical Changes
  • It's perfectly normal for you to go through puberty later than your peers. It's not a race. But puberty isn't all about changes that happen to your body. You might be experiencing mood swings or even sexual feelings.
  • Mum, my friends are developing much faster than me. I find it strange that others have grown taller and have grown hair around their bodies,, while horrible pimples are growing on my head!
  • Physical Changes
  • I'm growing taller, Mum!
  • You're taller than me now! I told you that you would grow eventually!
  • Social Changes
  • Hi guys! Can we call after school? I'm not occupied
  • Sure! Maybe at 6 o'clock. Are you busy at 6:00, Ridley?
  • Nope. Can't wait to chat later!
  • When I began having pimples in 2017, I was horrified. I looked hideous! I wondered why others were going through different changes, but now I know that changes can happen at different times for people. I got acne, while others grew facial/body hair.
  • Emotional Changes
  • Dad, I don't feel so great. I yelled at my friend today. I made him feel sad. Now he won't talk to me.
  • It's okay son. Just wait until you feel better and whenever you're ready, apologize to your friend.
  • I was relieved when I found out that I was growing. Honestly, I was embarrassed because I was shorter than all of my friends. My parents helped me to understand that it's the choices we make in life that define who we are. Your height doesn't matter as much as your feelings and emotions.
  • How Religion has Influenced my Growth
  • Dear God, thank you for this day...
  • I didn't truly understand the true importance of friends until I was maturing. I began to make more friends and introduce myself to people I didn't really know. Last year, I befriended a group of people, who I keep in touch with outside of school. Prior to this, I was very antisocial and meek.
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Thanks, mum! I'm trying my best!
  • Sometimes, I am irritable and sensitive. Things just don't go my way and I get angry and sometimes anxious. My parents help me whenever they notice my behaviour is unusual.
  • Sometimes, I used to feel a bit depressed. I started to believe that my life didn't really have a purpose. Prayer, my family and my education at CBC have helped me to learn that I am unique. I am lucky that I have access to essential resources. I have been more interested in learning about the Catholic Faith. I learnt that I should live my life, cherishing every special moment with my family and friends and trying to be the best person I can be. I also grew more aware and thoughtful of the poverty-stricken people.
  • Recently, I have been trying to be more active at home. My mum and I often go to the gym inside our apartment building after I return from school. This helps us both by keeping us more fit and active.
  • You're doing great, Pat! Keep going!
