the lord will look after you like a shepherd looks after his sheep that were scattered he will lead them and feed them and let them rest. the lord has spoken

he will look for those that are lost, bandage those that are hurt, but those that are fat and strong he will destroy, because the lord is a shepherd who does what is right
the lord will judge each of you and separate good from bad. some of you are not satisfied with the best grass, and you trample what you don't eat

the lord will rescue the ones pushed away. he will give them a leader, a king like david. and he will be their god
the lord will bless them with rain when they are thirsty and fruit when they are hungry. their fields will produce crops and they will be safe and free, no longer slaves.

the heathen nations will not plunder them and the animals will not hunt them. the lord will give them fertile fields and put an end to hunger. everyone will know the lord protects them. you are the lord's sheep, and the lord is your shepherd
