A close friend of many Indians, Davy Crockett opposed Democratic President Jackson. His opposition to Jackson did not prevent him from being re-elected in 1827 with the Democratic label, but was the cause ofhis failure in the election of 1830. Crockett was however re-elected in 1833.In 1834, he published an autobiography. In 1835 he left for Texas.
He soon joined the Texan Revolution in Mexico.
He took part in the defense of Alamo and was entrusted with the guard of the southern palisade. Then it is said that he disappered while going out ; he was taken prisoner by a Mexican general and was executed with a dozen men of the orders of a commander. The reason for his dead is unclear.
