Should I keep working as a journalist or find a different life?
My father found himself interviewing people he did not find very interesting, on topics he hardly cared about in a small town in Ohio. He did not feel satisfied in his job. Though he enjoyed some aspects of my job, he was mostly uninterested in his day-to-day responsibilities.
Is this really what I want to do with my life? Hmm...
My grandfather died, and my father reflected upon how precious time is and how he should best spend my time. He realized that he would not live forever, and that he should make the most of his life.
As a result of my grandfather's death, a few days after he died, my father was back in Ohio, his lease up. He soon quit his job and moved back to New Jersey, where most of his relatives lived.
I should leave.
The most impactful, and hardest decision of his life was not over yet.
My father eventually chose to go to Latin America. Learning Spanish would open up a world of opportunities.
Learn Spanish! Travel the world! Introduce myself to foreign countries, cultures, and languages! Follow my passion and heart! Do what I want to do while I am still here on Earth!
