  • Hercules is the son of Zeus, the ruler of all gods and a mistress. Zeus' wife Hera, the queen of gods, became his stepmom. 
  • Performing Super Human Deeds
  • Hercules performed superhuman deeds, like no mortal could, had great appeal for the people of Greece and Rome, and had the ability to endure hardships. 
  • Performing Super Human Deeds
  • This was the 1st "heroic labor."  He journeyed to the hills of Nemea to kill the lion. He killed the lion by tapping it in it's cave and strangling it. 
  • Actions That Determine the Fate of a Nation
  • This is the 2nd "heroic deed." In this battle, he fought the 9-headed Hydra. He traveled to the city of Lerna with his nephew Iolaus. To defeat this beast, Hercules cut off each of her heads, while Iolaus burned each of the wound. This prevented the heads from growing back.
  • This is the 9th "heroic labor." In this task, Hercules was sent to the Amazon to steal the belt from Hippolyte. He befriended the queen and was going to be given the belt. Although Hera disguised herself and spread the rumor that Hercules was going to kidnap the queen. The warriors turned against him, so Hercules fleeing for safety, killed Hippolyte and stole the belt. 
  • Hercules accomplished all 12 "heroic labors" and saved the different towns from the horrible monsters that terrorized them.
