OMG TIMMY!!!! we have to get you to the hospital!!
Its okay mommy, i'll heal through a process called Mitosis.
Little Timmy Panda got a scratch while playing on the playground at school. His mom is freaking out because she thinks he's going to die. But today in school they learned about mitosis, and Timmy is going to explain to his mom why he is going to be okay.
Okay Mommy, The first thing you should know is that mitosis is the process of reproducing cells to get two daughter cells with the same number of chromosomes as the parent cell.
The First phase of Mitosis is Interphase. Interphase is where the cell spends 90% of its time during Mitosis. During Interphase is when DNA is being copied and the cell grows to two times it size.
The next phase is Prophase. In this phase the parent cell losoes the nucleus and centrioles begin to form. The centrioles will start to spin creating a frame or structure. This is the prep stage to start froming new cells that will heal Little Timmy Panda's cut.
The next phase in mitosis is the Metaphase. To remember this Timmy learned "Meet in the middle at Anna's house." This is good to remember because in this phase the chromosomes meet in the middle.
The next phase is Anaphase. During Anaphase the chromosome split in half. They split from there best friend and go to the opposite side of the cell.
