Storyboard Text

  • Scientific Method Comic Strip
  • Annie is trying to figure out where plants grow the tallest so she can have big, beautiful plants at her house. The PROBLEM is, Annie is not sure where they plants grow best.
  • Where will my plants grow best?
  • Annie decided she will RESEARCH where the plants will grow best, and create a survey, asking people, such as friends and neighbors, where they usually grow their plants.
  • I know, I will go out and ask others!
  • Annie is anxious to know where her plants will grow best. Her HYPOTHESIS is that they will grow best outside in the sun.
  • Going outside was a good idea. I was able to gather my thoughts.
  • Payton Munro P.5
  • Annie decides she will OBSERVE 3 plants in different spots, and keep watch for which will grow the biggest over time. The three spots chosen were the top three spots people said they grow their plant.(This was based off her survey.) She will water them once a day, everyday, and put them in the same pot, with the same amount of soil. She will put one outside, in the sun, one in the window seal, and one on a shelf that does not get sunlight.
  • I will put two in my room.
  • I will put one outside.
  • Annie observes each of the three plants in their different locations and documents how each setting affects the growth of the individual plants. In her ANALYSIS OF THE DATA she collected, she discovered that the plant outside grew 5 1/3 inches, the plant in the window seal grew 4 3/4 inches, and the plant on the shelf grew 2 1/8 inches.
  • After I compare my data, I'll know where I should grow my plants!
  • Her CONCLUSION is that the plants grew best outside in the sun. Annie's hypothesis was correct. Now Annie can have big, beautiful plants at her house.
  • Im so glad I finally figured out where my plants will grow the best!
