  • From this point forward slavery will be abolished from all of the USA
  • Over 4 million slaves were freed in the south due to the 13th Amendment
  • WE'RE FREE!!
  • But where will we go??
  • "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude except as punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."
  • Abraham Lincoln and most of the North supported this amendment, but the South did not approve of it. Due to there war treaty they had no choice to deny it.
  • Do you agree with the new amendment?
  • of course not it ruins our economy!
  • The North was not affected very much by the !3th Amendment. Although it did not affect them they wished that this would help discrimination and change some of the Southern peoples minds.
  • The South was very unsupportive of this idea and did not want it to take affect. In there minds in wouuld ruin their lifestyle, and not to mention their econemy
  • In the end Black's were still discriminated against. If they decided to move North they would have little chance at a factory job. And if the stayed in the South they'd most likely be a sharecropper. Either way they would live a tough life.
