How would the story change if it took place in the 1900's?
Hey DuShaun, I wish we could go to this school.
Toni, you know we are not allowed.
What would happen if Addie was black?
Yayyyyy! We won the election!
I can't believe it!
If Bobby had the same character as Joe, both Bobby and Joe would be gay. Bobby would also be more outgoing and confident. If this were to happen, Bobby and Joe might have fought over Collin. This could result in some bad blood within the Gang of Five. Also inheriting Joe's outgoing personality would have given Bobby more confidence when presenting the speech.
How else can the Gang of Five apply "No Name Calling Week" to benefit their school?
DAY 1: SAY SOMETHING NICE TO SOMEONE
MAKE EVERY WEEK NO NAME CALLING WEEK!
ATTENTION STUDENTS! NO NAME CALLING WEEK IS HERE!
If The Misfits took place in the 1900's, life would be much harder for the minorities in the book. People like DuShaun and Toni would be affected greatly. During that time, schools were segregated and blacks could not attend schools intended for whites. This means, Toni and DuShaun could not attend PFMS. Without the minorities in the book, the Gang of Five would most likely never had the idea for the "Freedom Party". Life would also be different for Joe because gays were uncommon in that time.
How would the story change without Addie?
If Addie was black, the "Freedom Party" might have been different. It would have a better chance of winning the election because the leader is a minority herself. Also, DuShaun would not think she was being racist. He probably would have stayed on the ticket. Together both DuShaun and Addie could have a better chance of victory. DuShaun also would have been less likely to date her because he likes her "peach" skin tone.
What if the "Gang of Five" were the bullies in the story?
Stop the Gang of Five
JOIN THE NO NAME PARTY PRESIDENT: KEVIN HENNESSEY VP: DUSHAUN CARTER
New ways to apply "No Name Calling Week" is to make all students sign a contract saying they won't call any peers names. They should make each day of the special week hold a different task. For example, they should have a day in the week where students say something nice to each other. They could also send the idea to the school board and have the event occur in other schools. Doing these things could create a new lifestyle for kids.
Hey Skeezie! Your hair looks so nice today!
Thanks Toni and Happy "No Name Calling Week"!
Without Addie in the story, things would be significantly different. The gang would never join the election as politics don't interest the others. Without the election, there would be no limit on the name calling at PFMS. "No Name Calling Day" would have never started. For the students of Paintbrush Falls, bullying would be a common occurance that would seem to have no end.
Hey Fluff, what's for lunch?
I don't even bring marshmallow sandwiches anymore!
If Skeezie, Bobby, Addie, and Joe were the bullies of the story, they would surely have a different party platform. Instead of the "No Name Party" they might just be democrats or republican. The bullies in the original version of the story might create a "No Name Party" of their own. They would do it to get the "Gang of Five" to stop bullying them. The gang might also get punished for their behavior.
