Emma has T1DM. She uses the PAL system to acquire self management skills. Emma, her parents and a healthcare professional discuss the achievements she would like to obtain for the coming period.
Emma would like to be able to sleepover at her friend Nicole. Luckily, PAL has an achievement called "Go to a sleepover".
PAL informs the healthcare professional that, based on the learner characteristics of Emma, Emma learns the most effectively if just one achievement is selected. So the healthcare professional configures one achievement for Emma.
To get the complete the achievement, Emma has to complete certain goals. One of the goals is "Measure the glycaemia before every meals". To complete this goal Emma has to complete the timeline task of adding her glycemic value into PAL in correspondence of each meal for 7 days.
Another task that Emma has to fulfill is to play a quiz in order to answer all questions about the meaning of measurement values.
After a few weeks, Emma meets the healthcare professional again to look at her progress. An insightful progress measure shows how Emma is performing. Based on the progress, PAL advises the healthcare professional to change certain goals because it seems that Emma is losing her motivation.
