  • After the Meiji restoration citizens were slightly upset of some of the changes but overall accepted it.
  • All of a sudden America's stock markets crashed. Japan, Germany, and other countries depending on America's trades were all affected by this.
  • The Japanese decided to colonize Korea then move on to Manchuria, they were making a lot of progress until the western countries told Japan to back off. Japan obeyed until Japan found out that they were going to use a weakened China for the beginning of WW2. Japan was upset that they used their attack on China as an opportunity for their spheres of influence, and so Japan raged war on Russia and surprisingly won. They took their colonies and carried on to colonize China.
  • And banks invested everyone's money away.
  • Protests took place on the streets as citizens begun to starve. Whatever cash they had left was thrown, played around with or burnt because they were no longer of worth to them.
  • After assassinating Prime Minister Inukai Tsuyoshi for who citizens believed to be weak after showing that he couldn't do anything for the situation, Japan resorted into using violence to get what the economy needed. Causing the rise of Militarism.
