  • Mrs. Wilson can be heard by Michaelis scolding in the garage.
  • Vroom Vroom
  • Mrs. Wilson runs out into the dusk, where she rushes at a speeding car.
  • On the drive to Long Island, Nick and Tom spots 3 or 4 vehicles and a crowd of people.
  • Wreck! We'll take a look.
  • Let's get out
  • Tom realizes that Mrs. Wilson was the one involved in the wreck. Mr. Wilson first suspects Tom but Tom clears his name.
  • What happened?
  • Auto hit her. Ins'antly killed.
  • Oh, my Ga-od!
  • Once they were on the move and beyond the bend, Tom put his foot down hard, with tears flowing down his face.
  • The God Damn coward! He didn't even stop his car.
  • At the Buchanans' house, Nick waits for a taxi before Gatsby walks up to him and explains what happened during the car accident. Gatsby is worried about Tom and does not want to leave Daisy.
  • You'd better come home and get some sleep.
