NZ has over 30,000km of gravel roads! Today we will be taking you on a great gravel ride on the banks peninsula near CHCH.
Today, we are going to show you a great gravel ride leaving from a Birdlings flat
The ride starts crossing this thick gravel beach until we reach the little bridge over the channel linking lake forsyth to the pacific ocean.
Follow Bossu Road until you get to Jubilee road - then its time for a VERY steep descent!
The first climb up Bossu Rd starts immediately and it shows you why so many people like gravel bikes with low gears ! The views are incredible though
We are at the bottom of Jubilee road in Wainui. There isn't anywhere here to buy supplies unfortunately - which is a shame as id really like a coffee! - We are only Xkm in to the ride now, but we have climbed and descended xxm. Now we are going to join Bossu road again and start another climb!
mid way through the climb and we are back on gravel, lets get to the top for some more great views! - and maybe a snack!
This section is on the road but dont worry, we will be back on gravel soon!
This is my favorite part of the ride lots of ups and downs and a brilliant view everywhere you look!
