  • We better hurry and look for it before you become a victim of Identity Theft!
  • Oh no! I lost my wallet!
  • Identity Theft?
  • Identity Theft is when someone wrongfully acquires and uses your personal information such as your credit or account information.
  • Exactly! And you can prevent this from happening by keeping your information in a more secured place with a safeguard wallet or memorizing your information.
  • Wait! So if a bad person found my wallet then they could use my social security number or my credit card as if they're me?!
  • Aw, what should I do?! I don't want someone acting like me and spending all my money!
  • First, let's cancelled your credit card and close all your accounts. Then contact the 3 major credit reporting agencies such as; Experian, Equifax, and Trans Union. We also need to file a police report as well.
  • Oh but I don't penalties for losing my wallet!
  • You'll only be liable for $50 for unauthorized credit card charges per card.
  • Well now I have to contact the 3 credit agencies but why?
  • It is important to contact all three because even if you did cancel your card the theft can still make a new account and open your account again.
