  • "Why will you say that I am mad? The disease has sharpened my senses- not destroyed- not dulled them."
  • It had always been that blue eye!
  • For seven nights, at midnight, I would go into his chamber and check on him while he slept.
  • ZZZZ
  • On the eighth night, I was more cautious than usually in opening the door. He could not know what was coming for him.
  • ZZZZ
  • Hahaha! He doesn't even known.
  • I fairly chuckled at the idea of seeing him dead, and perhaps he heard me, because he moved on the bed suddenly, as if he had been startled.
  • ZZZZ
  • As I tried to be really careful, I accidentally slipped my thumb upon the tin fastening, the old man sprang up in bed and cried out.
  • ?????
  • I decided to lit the lantern very little, as I did this I saw the blue eye and it was open! Wide open! With a loud yell, I threw open the lantern and leaped into the room. He screamed once and that was it. He had the heart attack.
